2014 CMA Fest: Nightly Concerts at LP Field Recap – Day 1 (#CMAFest)

2014+CMA+Festival+Day+1+qvAw6mFi-PMlThe 2014 CMA Music Festival kicked off its first night with a star-studded lineup at LP Field on Thursday evening (June 5) in Nashville, Tenn.

Night 1 included performances by Alabama, Luke Bryan, Brantley Gilbert, Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, and Tim McGraw.

Alabama opened the show performing  hits such as “If You’re Gonna Play In Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band)”, “Dixieland Delight,” “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” “I’m in a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why),” and “Mountain Music.” The fans danced and sang along to the Country Music Hall of Famer’s 30+ year old tracks.

Luke Bryan opened his set with “That’s My Kind of Night” and continued with smash-hits including “Drink a Beer” and “Play It Again.” His set received some of the biggest cheers of the night.

Brantley Gilbert raised some hell at LP Field when he performed his hit “Kick It In The Sticks.” The entertainer was later joined by Thomas Rhett and Justin Moore for a special performance of “Small Town Throwdown.”

Dierks Bentley was the next artist to hit the stage; performing “5-1-5-0”, “Tip It On Back”, “Let’s All Get Drunk on a Plane”, and “I Hold On.”

It was then time for Rascal Flatts to take the stage. The award-winning group performed  “Life Is A Highway,” their new single titled “Payback,” an a cappela version of “Love You Out Loud,” a cover of Pharrell’s “Happy,” “Rewind,” and “Bless the Broken Road.”

Tim McGraw closed the first night of festivities with hits such as Real Good Man, I Like It, I Love It, I Want Some More of It, Back When and Truck Yeah. The highlight of McGraw’s set came during “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s” when wife Faith Hill joined him on stage.

“What a night at #cmafest!!! You sounded good nashville!!” performer Tim McGraw tweeted after the night’s festivities.
