5. Fashion
Now, every red carpet event has a star with the latest style in high fashion right behind it. But, most of the time we find ourselves trying to mimic the styles of these celebs with pricey outfits that are just nowhere near our price range! The TCA’s brings out a much cheekier night of fashion, with styles that pertain less towards a night at the Oscars, and more towards a night on the town! From baby-doll dresses, to sundresses, to high waisted dress shorts and pumps- these styles are casual enough to wear everyday but cute enough to know you’ll still be looking your best!
4. Categories
Most award shows are known for the standard Best Male Artist, Best Female Actor, Best Pop Music Video etc…. The Teen Choice Awards are known for their fun, out of the box categories along with the general ones! Our favorites include Choice Male/ Female Hottie, Choice Break- Up Song, Choice Hissy Fit, and Choice LipLock! Each year, however, the creators of the award show continue to up their game in creating more categories! This year’s categories include Choice Social Media King/ Queen, Choice Twit, Choice Instagrammer, Choice Viner, and our personal favorite Choice Fanatic Fans!- That means you Lovatics, Arianators, Directioners, Harmonizers, and Swifties!
3. Hilary Duff’s first appearance on the TCA stage in 4 years
Singer, Actress, and Disney Channel alum Hilary Duff could be compared to as many young girls’ Hannah Montana before Hannah Montana. As the hit TV show Lizzie McGuire came to a close, Duff continued with her singing career, but shortly after took a break as she became a wife and a mom. The TCA’s are bringing back this beloved triple threat as a presenter this year, as Hilary will be taking the Teen Choice stage for the first time in 4 years.
2. Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd to Perform ‘Really Don’t Care’
When Demi Lovato first released her song ‘Really Don’t Care’ featuring Cher Lloyd, it was love at first sound! However, it’s been quite hard to see these two perform the song together, despite some shows on Demi’s tour Neon Lights, as well as the recently released music video for the song. This Sunday, these divas will be LIVE on stage TOGETHER showcasing their powerhouse vocals in this upbeat tune, also nominated for Choice Break Up Song.
1. Jason Derulo To Perform ‘Wiggle’
Singer- songwriter Jason Derulo has always been an artist to watch. Since his debut in 2009 with his first hit single “Whatcha Say,” Jason has continued to top the charts year after year. With songs like “In My Head,” “Ridin Solo,” and his most recent “Talk Dirty To Me,” he never fails to impress us with his iconic voice and dance moves. Each performance he gives is better than the next, so you bet we can’t wait to see what this showstopper brings to the table when he takes the TCA stage to perform his latest hit “Wiggle!”
