.@aimeecarrero Talks All Things ‘Young & Hungry’ And Reveals a Surprising Secret – Read Our Q&A! (@YoungandHungry @ABCFamily)

Can we just say how happy we are that Young & Hungry is back on our screens?

In this second half of the second season, Gabi (Emily Osment) returns from Switzerland and manages to get her job back as Josh’s (Jonathan Sadowski) personal chef. However, her best friend, Sofia Rodriguez (Aimee Carrero), has not been so lucky.

CelebSecrets4U sat down with Aimee Carrero to get the scoop on whether or not Sofia will bounce back any time soon after being fired and dumped on the same day (or at least in the same episode).

“Well, it’s going to be a minute before she bounces back,” Carrero said. “I think that much like real life, sometimes when it rains, it pours when it comes to bad news. I think Sofia has a few more challenges ahead of her and whatever lessons she is going to be learning the second half of the season they’re not going to be easily learned. She’s going to struggle a little bit and that’s always really fun to play but eventually she will come out of whatever rut she’s in but not before some hilarity ensues.”

In our interview, the actress also talks about the show being renewed for a third season, what it’s like working with the cast and who her favorite guest has been on the show. She also shares some fashion and beauty tips — make sure to check out the full interview below!

In “Young & Earthquake,” Sofia is depressed about her lack of job prospects, so Gabi takes her to a psychic to get a better idea of what the future holds. Sofia has serious doubts about Madame Paulette’s (Cleo King) abilities, while Gabi panics when she learns that Josh will pop the question and vows to avoid her boss’s pending proposal. When the fortune-teller accurately predicts an earthquake, the  girls go back for another reading because she clearly knows what she’s talking about. This time she promises them money, love and a bundle of joy, which looks like a possibility when Elliott and Alan (Bryan Safi) ask Sofia a life-altering question. Meanwhile, Yolanda tries to help Josh conquer his fear of possible aftershocks with unfortunate results.

Young & Hungry airs on Wednesday, September 16th at 8PM ET/PT on ABC Family.

Check out some clips and stills from tonight’s episode below.

CS4U: Young and Hungry started back up last month and you were recently renewed for season 3. Congratulations! What was it like getting that news?

Aimee Carrero: “We actually started airing the second half of our second season and maybe a day or two before we got news of the third season. It was great because it was double good news on one day but it’s all great. Look, it’s always so nice to work on a show that people like to watch (laughs) and are so excited about and want to see on their televisions or iPhones or whatever way they’re watching it these days. It’s always wonderful to be a part of something that will connect you so I’m very thrilled at the thought of coming back.”

CS4U: What’s it like working with the cast on the show?

Aimee Carrero: “It’s great. We have a really unique relationship because our show is a sitcom and it’s multi-cam and we have an audience on Friday nights. We rehearse everything very much like a play so we’re always on set. None of us can go back to our rooms really because it’s sort of rehearsed one scene right after the other and it all goes really quickly, so you do get a sort of bond in that regard because it’s not so piecemeal, and to do comedy you have to trust one another so I love working with them because they’re all professional and they’re all willing to sort of stick their neck out for you and be with you in a scene and kind of go with it even if it’s not working. You just feel very supported and that’s probably my favorite thing about working with the cast.”

CS4U: You guys have had some awesome guest stars on the show. Who has been your favorite one so far?

Aimee Carrero: “I mean, listen, it’s impossible to pick a favorite because that’s like picking a favorite ice cream. I don’t know but I loved having Kylie Minogue on the show. I grew up in the 90s so I just grew up with her music and seeing her on TV and I just thought ‘oh my gosh she’s from Australia like that’s the furthest place in the world’ and to be able to work with her was just such a pleasure and she is so lovely and so nice and very down to earth, which you kind of don’t always expect from a big pop star, but she was just a pleasure to have on set.”

CS4U: Sofia always looks amazing on the show and you always look great off set in your photos. Can you give us some of your fashion or beauty tips?

Aimee Carrero: “Oh you’re kind because I have people that don’t always think I look great on my own (laughs). Well, as far as Sofia goes, there’s a team of a lot of people that make that happen. We have like five wardrobe people, four hair and makeup people all together that kind of work tirelessly on my face and body to make it look the way that it looks on set, and also we have wonderful lighting men so it’s all Sofia. I don’t want to say it’s all Sofia, I want to take a little credit, but also they’re hired professionals to make that happen. As far as my every day life, I do enjoy fashion and I do enjoy all of those things. I think my number one priority in all things in my life is to avoid discomfort so I try to pick the most comfortable thing I can wear, which if the 15-year-old me heard that she would have slapped me in the face (laughs).”

CS4U: Since we are CelebSecrets4U, can you tell us a secret about yourself that the fans may not know?

Aimee Carrero: Well, let’s see. I was in the Model UN in college and I won best delegate of the Harvard Model UN. I didn’t go to Harvard. We went to Harvard to compete, so that should be known (laughs). I wish I did, but I didn’t, but yea so I won best delegate at the Model UN.”
