Emerging pop trio AJR announced to fans yesterday that they are pushing back the release of their full-length debut Living Room. Originally scheduled for September 30, the release is moving to February 2015 to allow the band time to record a batch of newly written songs that reflect their continued creative development. In the meantime, the band is readying a 5-track Infinity EP for release on September 23 (AJR Productions/Warner Bros. Records) featuring new single “Infinity.” AJR is on the verge of becoming one of the biggest and brightest new bands of 2014 following the success of their hit single “I’m Ready,” which was recently anointed Certified Gold with over 500,000 sold. The band recently performed the song on The Today Show.
In a letter to fans, the band explained:
We have a lot of news for you, so we wanted to write you another letter. Over the last few months of touring, we’ve been writing like crazy (a lot of cool innovative stuff) and we have a whole bunch of songs that we want to put on our debut album, Living Room. Unfortunately, we don’t think we’re gonna have enough time to produce all this stuff before the release date, so in the meantime we’re gonna put out a brand new EP! It’s called the ‘Infinity EP’ (yeah, you guessed it, Infinity is our new single), and we’re stoked to show you guys another stage in the development of AJR’s sound. Expect Living Room to drop in February 2015.
Also! We’re gonna be putting out a bunch of new videos (originals and covers and maybe a webisode or 2), so you can look forward to that.
Finally, we’re going on a HEADLINE TOUR this fall. We will be posting all about the dates and ticket sales over the next few weeks on twitter and facebook…
We can’t wait to see you guys. Sorry about pushing Living Room a little. We really want to get it right. You only get 1 debut album. 🙂 Till next time!
Are you excited for AJR’s EP?
