The golden popcorn will make its return for the 25th consecutive year next month at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards!

Earlier this morning, MTV announced the nominees for fan-favorite categories Movie of the Year, Best Male/Female Performance, Best Breakthrough Performance, Best Comedic Performance, Best Action Performance, Best Hero, Best Villain, Best Virtual Performance, Ensemble Cast, Best Kiss, Best Fight, and two new categories True Story and Documentary via the network’s Snapchat Discover Channel.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens landed the most nominations this year, accumulating a nod in 11 out of 14 categories.

This year’s show will tape at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, Calif. For the first time ever, MTV will take the telecast entirely outdoors and onto the backlot to capture the essence of movie making magic against a dramatic nighttime backdrop.  Performers and presenters will be announced at a later date.

In another first for the show, MTV has partnered with Google for voting on the coveted “Movie of the Year” category, allowing fans to vote by typing keywords, “MTV Vote,” into the Google search bar.  In other categories, fans can get loud and make their voices heard starting today, across mobile, tablet and desktop devices at www.MovieAwards.MTV.com, until Sunday, March 20 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
