Ashland HIGH, the band featuring Trace Cyrus, formerly of the pop rock band Metro Station, is kicking off a nation wide summer tour withForever The Sickest Kids on August 8th in his hometown of Nashville, TN. The tour follows the release of Ashland HIGH’s debut album “Geronimo,” which had over 146k downloads within the first two days of its release. Trace recently toured alongside Breath Carolina and spent three days at the Bamboozle Festival in Asbury Park, NJ, performing and promoting his clothing line, “Southern Made Hollywood Paid,” AKA S.M.H.P.
Since Ashland HIGH’s formation in 2010, Trace has taken his musical experience and put everything he knows into his band. Consisting of pop, dub step, r&b and rock, this project put Trace behind all aspects of the production where he wrote the lyrics and sings all vocals. Trace is currently working on two new music videos, the first for the track “Sippin On Sunshine,” directed by Tyler Davis, a Nashville native and longtime friend of Trace. In the past, Davis has filmed and edited music videos for rappers J.Ceaz and J.Flyer. This new video is a follow up to “Jealous Lover,” which had 143,000 views within the first 2 days of its premiere.
Trace’s clothing line “Southern Made Hollywood Paid” was established in 2009. S.M.H.P features t-shirts, jackets, sunglasses, hats and more. It was important for him to have a creative outlet and he has always been passionate about fashion. Trace’s love for art is one reason his entire body is covered in tattoos. Trace and his tattoos were recently featured in the June issue of Inked Magazine. Trace says, “I have always had a love for fashion and the opportunity presented itself to have a clothing company of my own and I really wanted the name of it to represent me. That is why I decided on Southern Made Hollywood Paid. I feel it tells a lot about my life, my story, and me. I love any way to express myself and that’s why I started SMHP.”
Growing up in the south in a town outside of Nashville, Tennessee Trace moved to California when he was 16 years old but will also consider TN his home. Hollywood is where he met his band, started playing shows, and by the age of 17 had a record deal and a chance to tour the world. Music and fashion were always his two true passions in life and Hollywood really gave him the opportunity to meet the right people and allow him to live out his dreams. Trace cannot wait to get back on the road and join FTSK on tour.
