Known for his signature cowboy hat and divers musical personality, Bobby Wills is making a mark with his widely popular country sound and the American release of his new EP, Crazy Enough under Willing Nashville, which was released earlier this month.

Previously released in Canada (2014), Will’s five-song EP features the up-tempo single “Crazy Enough,” a song that takes him back to his hometown roots in Manchester, MA where he spent his summers at Singing Beach in Manchester, MA rock jumping!

Co-written by Bobby himself, the five-song EP, features the lead title “Crazy Enough” and “Never Didn’t Love You.” The record features an array of tracks that blend rock-inspired country songs, driven by fuller percussion and a bevy of string instruments, with Bobby’s signature melodic harmonies and intimate lyrical story telling.

CelebSecrets4U caught up with Bobby recently to chat all about the American release of Crazy Enough EP! In our interview, the Canadian country singer talked about the EP, what inspired the sound for the record, making the move to Nashville to Canada, and what we can expect from him in the future. He even spilled about his love for watching Oprah and his crazy juggling skills — make sure to read the Q&A below!

Crazy Enough is available now on iTunes. For more information on Bobby Wills, visit www.bobbywills.com.

CS4U: Your new single “Crazy Enough” is out this month — what can you tease about the release?

Bobby: “The song ‘Crazy Enough’ is about a boy who does all crazy things that most boys would do, and some girls would try to do too. You know, just the random craziness that is part of growing up- that’s where the song came from. I think you got to be a little crazy, but not all the way crazy.”

CS4U: With songwriting, you’re known for having such a diverse musical personality. What really inspires your music? Who did you grow up listening to?

Bobby: “Wow, I listened to a list of artists who’ve made an impact on me. The one that stands out, one of the turning moments- I was in my father’s truck and Keith Urban came on the radio and I just remember thinking that it wasn’t just the singing that was amazing, it was that I could really feel what he was saying and that made me really want to be in country music.”

CS4U: What kind of sound do you try to bring to your music?

Bobby: “Well, the nice thing for me is that the way I sing is just country. It comes out that way and is very much from the traditional side, which is pretty good because that also allows us to do other things musically.  So we can do a pop song like “Never Gonna Love You” and when I sing it I’m still going to make it a country song. So, it’s allowed us a lot of latitude creatively. I would say my vocal is more of a traditional kind of vocal, and that’s kind of neat.”

CS4U: You have started to receive numerous awards and recognition from your peers and fans for your work. Does that make you want to work harder? How does that make you feel?

Bobby: “It’s wonderful!  I mean it’s the acknowledgement of a lot of hard work. This isn’t an easy business and so, those moments where people will give you the pat on the back and say “keep going, you’re doing the right thing,” are really key moments for most artists. I don’t think anybody really gets in it to win awards, but it is a nice thing when that happens.”

CS4U: You are making a big move to Nashville from Canada. How excited are you for that?

Bobby: “I’m excited! This is such an important home base for us already, creatively.”

CS4U: And seeing as you are going to be in Nashville, which is the Music City of the world, what can we really expect from you?

Bobby: “As plans develop for touring and going coast to coast, I get more and more excited about doing it. Creatively, I will be getting to write even more than I do now, and being immersed in the culture of this town artistically, I just think that hopefully the best is yet to come.”

CS4U: Our website is called CelebSecrets4U. What might fans not know about you that you could share with us, whether it is a secret or a hidden talent?

Bobby: “A secret talent that I have that you don’t know? Wow, this is a scary one… I can juggle! I’m not sure I’m that good at it but I can do it. I also quietly watch Oprah a lot. I’m a bit of a cry baby! I love sad movies, or emotional themes. My buddies think I’m a softee, but I’ve always loved that kind of stuff.”
