Living up to his Renegade status, BRANTLEY GILBERT will embark on a motorcycle ride with Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) to celebrate the May 18 release of JUST AS I AM PLATINUM EDITION (The Valory Music Co.). The trek marks the second consecutive year the Georgia native has embarked on this type of journey, launching the standard album with 2014’s Athens to Arlington. This full-throttle project serves as a thank you to the loyal BG nation for their support and contribution to the tremendous success of 2014’s JUST AS I AM, which earned the American Music Awards’ Favorite Country Album and produced the 2X Platinum #1 smash “Bottoms Up” and GOLD-certified “Small Town Throwdown.” The latter of which is nominated for Collaborative Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards alongside labelmates Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett. The hitmaker’s third studio album was the third-highest Country debut of 2014 and earned a Top 5 spot as one of the Best Selling Country Albums of 2014. “It’s been a wild ride with this album. I put pen to paper and let the blood, sweat and tears of the last few years create these stories,” said Brantley. “A huge thanks goes out to the BG Nation for all the support. I’m excited to bring this new music to the fans – my friends – and kick it all off with a ride to benefit a cause that is so important to me.”
An avid supporter of the military, Brantley draws inspiration for his music from the strength and courage our servicemen and women exhibit, as reflected in his current single, “One Hell Of An Amen.” The longtime motorcycle rider will help introduce the WWP “Rolling Odyssey” program, a therapeutic ride for combat veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and readjustment challenges, in conjunction with sharing his new music. This program is part of WWP’s alliance with Harley-Davidson, and it will include stops at several Harley-Davidson dealerships along the route.
By encouraging wounded veterans to share the open road and their love of motorcycles with their brothers and sisters without fear of judgment, the Rolling Odyssey program provides an opportunity for camaraderie, bonding, and therapy in a fun, highly unique way. Rolling Odyssey is particularly impactful since it provides a peer support setting: the open road gives combat veterans a unique environment to reconnect with those who understand their experiences firsthand.
“Wounded Warrior Project is grateful for Brantley’s support of the WWP mission, to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. We are honored to work with motorcycle icon Harley-Davidson in a joint initiative to raise awareness about post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and help improve the lives of this generation of wounded servicemen and women who are living with PTSD. Operation Personal Freedom creates awareness and support for our nation’s heroes through the love of motorcycle riding,” said John Roberts, warrior relations executive vice president for WWP. “Our warriors are excited to get out on the open road and ride their Harleys alongside Brantley in this inaugural Rolling Odyssey event.”
The ride will kick off next Friday (5/22) in Houston as ten Wounded Warrior Project Alumni join Brantley and his road crew for five stops in four cities over 48 hours. Raising dust and a little hell, the troupe will roll into Bayou Country Superfest on Saturday (5/23) for Brantley’s performance at LSU Tiger Stadium.
- Kick-Off: Stubbs Harley Davidson (4400 Telephone Rd. | Houston, TX)
- Stop 1: Cowboy Harley-Davidson (1150 IH-10 South | Beaumont, TX)
- Stop 2: Cajun Harley-Davidson (724 I-10 South Frontage Road | Scott, LA)
- Stop 3: Baton Rouge Harley-Davidson (5853 Siegen Lane | Baton Rouge, LA)

Preluding the big event, Brantley will head to Las Vegas on May 17 to vie for Top Country Artist and Top Country Album at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, airing live on ABC at 8/7c.
