Freeform’s new original series Beyond premiered on Friday evening (October 7) with a special event at New York Comic Con held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.
The panel included a screening of the first episode in its entirety, followed by a Q&A with executive producers Tim Kring (“Heroes”), David Eick (“Battlestar Galactica”), Adam Nussdorf (“Once Upon A Time in Wonderland”) and series star Burkely Duffield.

Beyond centers on Holden Matthews (Burkely Duffield), a young man who wakes up from a coma after 12 years and discovers new abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. Now Holden must try to figure out what happened to him during those 12 years; how to survive a world that changed while he was gone; and answer the question, why did this happen to him?Â
In addition to Duffield playing Holden, Beyond also stars Romy Rosemont (“Gleeâ€) as Diane Matthews, Michael McGrady (“American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson”) as Tom Matthews, Jonathan Whitesell (“Once Upon a Time”) as Luke Matthews, Dilan Gwyn (“Da Vinci’s Demons”) as Willa and Jeff Pierre (“Shameless”) as Jeff McArdle.
The show is a real game-changer to the network, as the entire season will be available for binge watching on multiple digital platforms, including the Freeform app, Freeform.com, On Demand and Hulu after the two-hour premiere event this January.
