A very, merry Grinchmas has returned to Universal Studios Hollywood as the theme park celebrates the “Who-lidays” this season with The Grinch, his faithful dog Max, and the Whos from Who-ville.
Universal Studios Hollywood invited us down to see the Who-lebration at the heart of the theme park, with the towering 60 foot tall whimsical “Grinchmas” tree that beautifully twists and spirals, making it an ideal photo opp for guests.
During our day at Grinchmas, we had the opportunity to speak to The Grinch himself, who shared with us the several activities to do down in Who-ville that are designed to create long lasting memories. We also heard from Cindy-Lou Who, Martha May Who-vier and The Mayor of Who-ville, who told us about their favorite parts of town, why they love Christmas, and more.
After we chatted with everyone in Who-ville, we were able to participate in all the activities Who-ville has to offer! First we stopped by the Wh0-ville Post Office. At the Who-ville Post Office, we had a chance to partake in the “Grow Your Heart 3 Sizes” campaign. In the campaign, we shared our good deeds on a postcard and mailed them to The Grinch. In return, Dr. Seuss Enterprises, L.P. and Random House Children’s Books, the publishers of Dr. Suess’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!”, will pay it forward by donating a book to a child in need through First Book on behalf of the sender.
Following the Who-ville Post Office, we stopped by the Trim up the Tree Lot attraction. We designed and personalized our own “Grinchmas” ornaments to help decorate the venue’s other “Grinchmas” trees! We also sat down for a special Story Time with Cindy-Lou Who, where Cindy-Lou Who and her Who friends gathered guests of all ages – tall and small – for an engaging storytelling show of Dr. Suess’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
In addition to these activities, we were able to enjoy Martha May Who-vier and her Who Dolls take the stage by the “Grinchmas” tree, performing energetic musical sets to usher in the Christmas season in style. There’s also a pretty tricky scavenger hunt around Who-ville, where guests win a prize at the end of the hunt. But our favorite part of the fab-Who-lous event is the interaction the various Who’s have with the guests. They take photos, make the guests laugh, dance, and sing to really get into the holiday spirit.
Don’t miss the fun holiday activities with the Grinch and Whos at “Grinchmas” at Universal Studios Hollywood running now until January 1, 2017.
