Celeb Secrets Predicts Teen Choice 2016 – Wave 1 Music Categories

Happy Thursday, readers!

We’re over a week away from Teen Choice 2016 and everyone at Celeb Secrets is super stoked to see the fashion, the performances, and most of all – the winners!

So to countdown to the ceremony, we’ve predicted who we believe will take home the award for the following music categories in Wave 1: Choice Male Artist, Choice Female Artist, Choice Music Group, Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Artist, Choice Country Artist, Choice Song: Female Artist, Choice Song: Male Artist, and Choice Song: Group. To view our predictions for the first wave of movie categories, click here.

Hosted by John Cena and Victoria Justice, Teen Choice 2016 will honor the year’s iconic stars from the best films, most-loved TV shows, fiercest music and the top moments in fashion, digital and comedy with coveted Teen Choice Surfboard awards.

Global superstar Justin Timberlake will make a special appearance, and four-time TEEN CHOICE 2016 nominee Charlie Puth will perform his hit single, “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” and EMPIRE’s Serayah also will perform. Additional performers, presenters and special appearances to be announced soon.

Teen Choice 2016 airs LIVE from the “Fabulous” Forum on Sunday, July 31st @ 8PM ET/PT on FOX. Tickets are now on sale to the general public at ticketmaster.com.

Choice Male Artist (#ChoiceMaleArtist): Charlie Puth; Drake; Justin Bieber; Nick Jonas; Shawn Mendes; Zayn Malik

Who We Think Will Win: Zayn released a new album after parting with One Direction and it was everything we wanted and more. There is no doubt that the former boy band member is going to take this award. He has the fan base to support him and one of the best albums I’ve heard.

Choice Female Artist (#ChoiceFemaleArtist): Ariana Grande; Beyoncé; Demi Lovato; Rihanna; Selena Gomez; Taylor Swift

Who We Think Will Win: Taylor Swift is going to take this award hands down. Her fans have always been behind her and have never let her down. The connection she has with her fans is incredible, she gives back and they give back. She has nothing but love for them.

Choice Music Group: (#ChoiceMusicGroup): 5 Seconds of Summer; DNCE; Fall Out Boy; Fifth Harmony; One Direction; The Chainsmokers

Who We Think Will Win: I want to say One Direction is going to win, but they broke up and I don’t think there is going to be a reunion anytime soon. But DNCE is the hot new band that everyone is gushing about. I keep on hoping a surfboard on the ocean!!! The have been seen everywhere and even opening for Selena Gomez!

Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Artist (#ChoiceRBHipHopArtist): Beyoncé; Drake; Iggy Azalea; Jason Derulo; Nicki Minaj; The Weeknd

Who We Think Will Win: Nicki Minaj won last year and we’re hoping she wins this year again because I want to hear a speech. Nicki Minaj gives the best, inspiring speeches, sometimes even with a twist.

But she’s gonna get a run for her money from Drake. Drake has been on fire ever since his new album dropped, so this is going to be a close call.

Choice Country Artist (#ChoiceCountryArtist): Blake Shelton; Carrie Underwood; Hunter Hayes; Kelsea Ballerini; Luke Bryan; Sam Hunt

Who We Think Will Win: Sam Hunt is the bad boy, laid back artist we love. He goes on stage with his baseball cap, his good looks, and the voice of an angel. He never seizes to amaze us. He brought out G-Eazy during his StageCoach set. You can’t beat that!

Choice Song: Female Artist (#ChoiceSongFemaleArtist): Adele – “Hello”; Ariana Grande – “Dangerous Woman”; Demi Lovato – “Confident”; Meghan Trainor – “NO”; Selena Gomez – “Hands To Myself”; Taylor Swift – “New Romantics”

Who We Think Will Win: I think Selena Gomez is going to take this because this song has not stopped playing on the radio, I still don’t hate “Hands To Myself”. I mean I could, but why would I want to?

Choice Song: Male Artist (#ChoiceSongMaleArtist): Charlie Puth – “One Call Away”; Flo Rida – “My House”; Justin Bieber – “Sorry”; Nick Jonas – “Close” (feat. Tove Lo); Troye Sivan – “YOUTH”; Zayn Malik – “PILLOWTALK”

Who We Think Will Win: I think Zayn Malik is definitely going to take this category. I can’t get this song out of my head, even if it is overplayed. It’s so beautiful and speaks to us. Zayn as a solo artist is one of the best things to happen, honestly.

Choice Song: Group (#ChoiceSongGroup): 5 Seconds of Summer – “She’s Kinda Hot”; DNCE – “Cake By The Ocean”; Fifth Harmony – “Work from Home” (feat. Ty Dolla $ign); One Direction – “Home”; The Vamps – “Wake Up”; twenty one pilots – “Stressed Out”

Who We Think Will Win: I want to say twenty one pilots because I’m biased and love them. “Stressed Out” plays on every radio station I listen to, from KIIS FM to ALT 98.7. Going on their own tour, but DNCE has been blowing it up. Performing on every morning show and award shows, while blowing up the radio. They have a big fan base and we can’t deny that their fans will let them down.
