CelebSecrets4U’s 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards Predictions – Part 1! (#RDMAs)

radio disney music awardsThe countdown to the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards has officially begun!

With only five days left, CelebSecrets4U is giving you the breakdown on what you can expect from the biggest fan-driven award show this weekend.

Today, we are sharing our predictions for They’re The One – Best Music Group, He’s The One – Best Male Artist, She’s The One – Best Female Artist, The Buzz – Breakout Artist of the Year, and The Freshest – Best New Artist! Check it out below…

They’re The One – Best Music Group

  • Emblem3
  • One Direction
  • R5

All three bands have had a successful year. Emblem3 embarked on their own #BandLife tour this winter and were direct support for Selena Gomez last fall. R5 hit the road and started with an audience of 50 people to selling out venues. Meanwhile, One Direction have sold out all of their tours and sold out this year’s tour in minutes. Although, One Direction took a small break, the buzz about them has not gone away and girls go crazy every time their name is mentioned. We’re going to give the Best Music Group to the hot, British boys with sexy accents–One Direction.

He’s The One – Best Male Artist

  • Austin Mahone
  • Cody Simpson
  • Justin Timberlake

Although Justin Timberlake is the king of pop, this is the RDMA’s and it’s going to be a close running between Austin Mahone and Cody Simpson. First of all, who puts Austin and Cody in the same category? Austin Mahone and Cody Simpson have had successful tours. Austin Mahone is sponsored by Aquafina and Cody Simpson was recently on Dancing With the Stars. Both were slimed at the KCA’s and both have new music. Let’s not mention that both are extremely attractive and know how to dance–they make the girls swoon! Is it getting hot in here? We’re going to give this award to Austin Mahone because unlike Cody, Austin has won a VMA.

She’s The One – Best Female Artist

  • Katy Perry
  • Demi Lovato
  • Taylor Swift

Katy, Demi, or Taylor? These are all strong, independent women with strong vocals. Katy Perry’s songs “Roar” and “Darkhorse” have been huge hits, and at one point they were being played everywhere you walked in. Demi Lovato, who just wrapped the huge Neon Lights Tour, has been on everyone’s radar. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is America’s sweetheart. Even if she’s not releasing new music, we still know about her everyday life. This award is going to be a close call between Demi and Katy Perry, but we think we’re going to go with Katy. Her songs are still being played on the radio and we can’t get them out of our head!

The Buzz – Breakout Artist of the Year

  • Ariana Grande
  • Fifth Harmony
  • Zendaya

Ariana Grande had a very successful year and is here to stay. Last year was just the start for her. Her album “Yours Truly” sold millions of copies, her tour sold out, and everyone is comparing her voice to Mariah Carey’s. She is already done with her second album and coming out with her first single of the year “Problem,” featuring Iggy Azaela (which will be debuting at this year’s show!). If you haven’t heard Ariana Grande’s music, you still know of her. She went from being that “Cat” girl from Victorious to a breakout artist. Hands down, we give this award to Ariana Grande.

The Freshest – Best New Artist

  • Becky G
  • Celeste Buckingham
  • The Vamps

Best New Artist? We’re going with The Vamps. Two words: British Boys. Who doesn’t love the British? Some people are already comparing them to One Direction, but they play their own instruments. They have great vocals and a great sound. Not your typical boy band, which makes them unique.

And there we have it! Who do YOU think will be winning big at this year’s RDMA’s? Make sure to tune in this Sunday, April 27th @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel for all the fun!
