So Random! is back and better than ever! The comedy series features original comedic vignettes parodying pop culture and a wide variety of everyday life, big and small. The series brings viewers into the audience of “So Random!,” the hit comedy TV show for kids and tweens first introduced in Sonny With A Chance.
Popular characters from So Random! — the show within the show Sonny With A Chance — Tawni, Grady, Nico, Zora and rival Chad Dylan Cooper are joined by new repertory players in sketches and performances.
Each episode showcases a performance by a special guest or recording artist including Cody Simpson, Selena Gomez and The Scene, Far East Movement, Mitchel Musso, Mindless Behavior, Coco Jones, Jacob Latimore, The Ready Set, Kicking Daisies, Greyson Chance and Tony Hawk, among others.
CelebSecrets4U caught up with Matthew Scott Montgomery, who plays Rufus, the student who has an excuse for everything (“You’re not going to be believe this!”), and Angus, an outrageous Australian supermodel with super shins. Check out part one of our four segment Q&A below:
CelebSecrets4U: What can you tell us about your role on Disney’s new series, “So Random?”
Matthew Scott Montgomery: “I play Matthew Bailey and he is a cast member on “So Random!” On “Sonny With a Chance,” everybody got to see what went on behind the scenes, but now show within a show is its own show! So I am one of the actors on that show. It’s way too much fun because since So Random is a sketch comedy show, I get to play three or four different characters a week!”
CelebSecrets4U: What goes on during a typical day on set?
Matthew Scott Montgomery: “Haha, wow! Well, since we’re always doing a lot of random stuff, everyday is different. You never know who you’re gonna see coming down the halls where our dressing rooms are. We rehearse a couple days a week so those days are all about testing out the lines and having fittings for costumes. Days where we shoot are always chaotic and fun; there are a lot of last minute changes, tons of wigs and costumes and makeup, and in between it all, if we have time or aren’t in a certain scene, we’ll hang out in each other’s dressing rooms and laugh or hang out on twitter. We try to tweet back our fans as much as we can – my twitter is twitter.com/irobotyoujane :D”
On this Sunday’s So Random!, Kicking Daisies will perform their hit single, Keeping Secrets! Crazy Carson puts everything he has up for sale in “Lost and Found;” an employee orchestrates a flash mob in “Flash Mob: China Shop;” “Simple Country Boy” lands a plane and performs surgery; and in “Project Airport Runway” models test their skills at landing planes.
