Alternative Press dubbed them “A Band You Need To Know.” MTV named them “Buzzworthy.” They hit #1 on Billboard’s “Next Big Sound” chart. They’ve shared stages (and received glowing endorsements) from the Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins. They’ve got a song on Avengers Assemble, the Marvel Music/Hollywood Records companion album to the blockbuster film “The Avengers.” We’re talking about teenage rock band CHERRI BOMB, who are about to unleash their major label debut This Is The End of Control on May 15.
To celebrate the release, the girls will play New York City’s Irving Plaza May 16, supporting their friends Steel Panther; Toad’s Place in New Haven, CT, May 18 opening for British glam rockers The Darkness; and then hitting the stage at the Bamboozle Festival in Asbury Park, NJ, May 19. Cherri Bomb will also jump on a string of Warped Tour dates starting in Darien, NY, on July 17.
Cherri Bomb recently premiered an exclusive VEVO video series entitled Teenage Rock Diaries in which bandmates Julia, Nia, Rena, and Miranda each shared intimate details about the life of being a teenage rock star. In the first entry of the video diaries, the band’s recent performances at Australia’s Soundwave festival took center stage, as lead singer Julia told the story of meeting A Day to Remember front-man Jeremy McKinnon, who she cites as a major musical influence. “I told him how much of an inspiration he was to me, and I thanked him for making music,” she said. “It was a really awesome moment.”
Cherri Bomb, who are managed by ex-Hole drummer Samantha Maloney, have won the hearts of rock enthusiasts of all ages with their electrifying performances, including show-stealing sets at major rock festivals all across Europe and Australia.
This is the End of Control was produced by Red Decibel (Adam Watts, Andy Dodd, Gannin Arnold) with “Heart Is A Hole” produced by Bobby Huff and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge (My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Bad Religion) with “Let It Go” mixed by Neal Avron. Look for Cherri Bomb in the May/June issue of Revolver.
