Chord Overstreet just dropped a fun music video for his Deepend remix of “Hold On” and we’re so jealous we didn’t score an invite to this epic summer pool party!

Co-written by Chord, “Hold On” is about the complexities around love lost and past relationships. Chord expressed that through the ups and the downs, “the picture I wanted to paint was the unconditional love of that person regardless of whatever happens…even though something may end, it’s kind of always haunting you.”

Directed by Shane Drake (who has also worked with Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Fall Out Boy), the video was shot in Los Angeles and features some of Chord’s friends.

In case you didn’t know, the original version of “Hold On” appeared on the series finale of The Vampire Diaries, and also on the Spotify Viral Charts. Following the buzz around this initial release, Chord expressed, “lyrically this song means a lot to me and I wanted to see how creating new musical textures would allow it to have fresh meaning and emotion. I like the idea of a song lending itself to different interpretations and having melodic flexibility.”
