Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard Reunite for “Ruben & Clay’s Christmas Show” On Broadway

If you’re a longtime watcher of American Idol, then you likely followed along closely with the tale of Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken. The Season 2 winner and runner-up, respectively, captivated audiences immediately on the show, and have stayed friends ever since – despite their constant “feuding” over their talents. This holiday season, the two artists reunited 15 years after their Idol debut, but this time, they’re singing in Ruben & Clay’s Christmas Show on Broadway.

This festive holiday variety show brings together all of your favorite Christmas carols, silly skits, powerful ballads, and poignant stories from Clay and Ruben’s own family traditions and memories. The family-friendly show is extra special for Idol fans, but it’s also a great act for those of us who crave some retro-inspired nostalgia around the holidays.

Personally, I was in the audience for this past Sunday’s show, and I was randomly selected to join the cast on stage for a fun game of holiday Mad Libs. (I don’t know if I did well at all, but it was definitely a blast!)

If you go, Ruben & Clay’s Christmas Show is now playing at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th St. NYC) through December 30. You can get tickets online, in person, or by phone.
