Hollywood Records has announced the latest addition to their chart-topping roster with the signing of actress/singer Coco Jones to an exclusive recording and publishing deal. Coco stars in Disney Channel’s upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Let It Shine.”
In 2010, at age 12, Coco was a part of Radio Disney’s prominent “N.B.T.” talent showcase. Since then, she guest starred and performed her single “Stand Up” in the Disney Channel’s series “So Random!” and headlined a series of Radio Disney concerts. In addition, Jones has performed at festivals, malls and theatres across the country and performed the National Anthem twice at National Football League games.
She headlines the Disney Channel Original Movie “Let It Shine” premiering Friday, June 15 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT. The music-driven story, inspired by Cyrano de Bergerac, is set in the world of hip-hop, rap and gospel music and reflects the challenges and triumphs of discovering one’s true self. Tyler James Williams (“Everybody Hates Chris”) and Trevor Jackson (“Eureka”) also star. The soundtrack debuts June 12 on Walt Disney Records.
Born January 4, 1998, in Columbia, South Carolina, and raised in Tennessee, Jones is the daughter of former NFL football player Mike Jones (Tennessee Titans, St. Louis Rams, New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals) and session vocalist Javonda Jones (who performed with Ronnie Milsap among others).
Coco loves all types of music and her influences range from Aretha Franklin to Jennifer Hudson. She will begin recording her debut album this year.
