Emerging country star Cole Swindell performed last night to a packed crowd at Joe’s Bar in Chicago, IL, during a stop on his “Down Home Tour” (photo above). Swindell’s energetic 75-minute set included his No. 1 hits both as a solo artist and songwriter, along with his latest single, “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey” and other tracks off his self-titled debut album and newly released Down Home Sessions Tour EP. With fans singing along all night, the encore included his debut mega-hit “Chillin’ It,” as well as a performance of “This Is How We Roll” – a song which Swindell wrote with Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line – sung with opener and EMI Nashville artist, Kelleigh Bannen (Full set list below). The CMA Awards’ nominee will perform again tonight at the famous bar to another sold-out crowd before heading out on the last leg of the Down Home Tour, which culminates on New Year’s Eve in his home state at Duluth, GA’s Wild Bill’s. Swindell also introduced his new fan club, The Down Home Crew, where fans have exclusive access, discounts and receive early information on all things Cole Swindell. Down Home Crew members also get access to the “Chillin’ It” VIP experiences on select tour stops powered by The Coleman Company, Inc.
Named one of Music Row’s 2015 Next Big Thing artists, Swindell was also just nominated for two of the brand new American Country Countdown Awards (ACCA’s), for Song of the Year for his platinum hit “Chillin’ It,” as well, for Breakthrough Artist Of The Year Presented By Samsung Galaxy.
Swindell has impressively sold almost 300,000 copies of his self-titled debut album since only February, giving him the highest selling debut country album released this year. Along with his latest single currently climbing at country radio, “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey,” the album also features his first two hits as a solo artist, back-to-back No. 1 singles: the platinum certified “Chillin’ It” and gold certified “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight.” Award winning BMI songwriter and Music Row’s Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year, Swindell’s celebrated writing credits include the cuts “This Is How We Roll” for Florida Georgia Line, “Get Me Some of That,” No. 1 single for Thomas Rhett, several songs with Luke Bryan including his most recent No. 1 single “Roller Coaster,” among others. As well, “Chillin’ It” remains one of the most played songs on country radio this year, racking up 1.3 million sales of more than 2.2 million total tracks sold. Meanwhile, Swindell’s recently released Down Home Sessions EP landed in the No. 1 spot on the country chart and Top 10 all genre upon release. Performing on the 88th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and making his Grand Ole Opry debut earlier this year, Swindell will head back out on the road in 2015 with Jason Aldean’s “Burn It Down” tour.
