Hey CelebSecrets4U readers,
On Saturday night we were on the red carpet for the 4th Annual Celebration of Dance Gala held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles. The Gala featured performances by some amazing dance companies and the Step Up All In cast, and boasted appearances by Christina Applegate, Cat Deeley, Paula Abdul, Jamie Chung, Jenna Ushkowitz, Mark Salling, Kenny Ortega, Mary Murphy, Nev Schulman and Sarah Hyland.
The event was presented by and benefitted The Dizzy Feet Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by So You Think You Can Dance judge Nigel Lythgoe and producer/choreographer Adam Shankman, whose mission is as follows:
- To sponsor, fund, and/or support dance education programs that expose children in low-income areas to the lifelong benefits of dance education through and with local community organizations.
- To provide scholarships to talented students studying at accredited or nationally regarded dance schools, studios, or institutions.
- To support and increase the quality of all styles of dance education in the United States, in conjunction with recognized credentialing organizations.
Awards were given out by DFF, including the Inspiration Award to choreographer Debbie Allen, and the Gene Kelly Legacy Award to dancers Pierre Dulaine and Yvonne Marceau.
