CS4U Predicts the 2014 CMT Music Awards Winners – Part 1! (#CMTawards)

CMTMA14_AM_PROFILE_L1JLThe countdown to the 2014 CMT Music Awards has officially begun!

With only 5 days left until showtime, CelebSecrets4U is giving you the breakdown on what you can expect from Nashville’s biggest award show of the year.

Today, we are sharing our thoughts on who will snag the famous buckle for Group Video of the Year, Duo Video of the Year, Breakthrough Video of the Year, and Collaborative Video of the Year!

Check out our predictions below…

GROUP VIDEO OF THE YEAR

  • Eli Young Band – “Drunk Last Night”
  • Lady Antebellum – “Compass”
  • Little Big Town – “Your Side Of The Bed”
  • Rascal Flatts – “Rewind”
  • The Band Perry – “Done”
  • Zac Brown Band – “Sweet Annie”

Every single video nominated in this category deserves a round of applause, don’t you think? Our pick for the “Group Video of the Year” would have to be “Sweet Annie” by Zac Brown Band. “Sweet Annie” gives the viewer a front row seat at band member’s Coy Bowles and wife Kylie’s gypsy land fantasy wedding ceremony. Kylie’s dress was absolutely GORGEOUS and we feel that this was such a great idea for the video. Hands down this is THE CUTEST music video we’ve ever seen!

DUO VIDEO OF THE YEAR

  • Dan + Shay – “19 You + Me”
  • Florida Georgia Line – “Round Here”
  • Florida Georgia Line – “Stay”
  • Thompson Square – “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About”

Watch out, Florida Georgia Line–you’ve got some competition this year! Even though you have two nominations in the category, Dan + Shay have been breaking records with their debut album and single “19 You + Me.” The music video makes us feel like we are in a summer romance fairytale–so adorable! For “Duo Video of the Year,” we feel that the buckle should be awarded to Dan + Shay for “19 You + Me.”

BREAKTHROUGH VIDEO OF THE YEAR

  • Brett Eldredge – “Beat Of The Music”
  • Cassadee Pope – “Wasting All These Tears”
  • Cole Swindell – “Chillin’ It”
  • David Nail – “Whatever She’s Got”
  • Thomas Rhett – “It Goes Like This”
  • Tyler Farr – “Redneck Crazy”

Does anyone else agree that there should be six buckles given to each nominee since they ALL have had successful careers this year? We dream each artist can take home this title, but in reality only one will win. In our opinion, we feel that Cassadee Pope has made the biggest breakthrough this year. From being in a punk-pop band to winning The Voice and becoming a country artist, “Wasting All These Tears” really proved to fans that Cassadee is here to stay! In our opinion, Cassadee Pope deserves the buckle for “Breakthrough Video of the Year.”

COLLABORATIVE VIDEO OF THE YEAR

  • Blake Shelton featuring Pistol Annies and Friends – “Boys ‘Round Here”
  • Florida Georgia Line featuring Luke Bryan – “This Is How We Roll”
  • Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly – “Cruise (Remix)”
  • Hunter Hayes featuring Jason Mraz – “Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me”
  • Keith Urban with Miranda Lambert – “We Were Us”
  • Tim McGraw with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban – “Highway Don’t Care

We like our country artists solo, but we LOVE them when they collab! From Hunter Hayes and Jason Mraz’s touching “Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me” to Florida Georgia Line and Nelly’s smash “Cruise,” every single song (and music video of course!) holds a special place in our heart. Even though it was released last year, “Cruise” is still the number one party anthem on not only the country charts but also the top hits charts! In our opinion, Florida Georgia Line and Nelly will be taking home the buckle for “Collaborative Video of the Year.”

Let’s dish: What are your thoughts on our predictions for the 2014 CMT Music Awards? Make sure to see who snags a buckle LIVE on Wednesday, June 4th at 8/7c only on CMT.
