CS4U Predicts The Winners For The 2014 Kids’ Choice Sports Awards – Part 1!

8B-Kids-Choice-Sports-Awards-2014-HRThe countdown to the 2014 Kids’ Choice Sports Awards has officially begun!

With only 4 days left until show time, CelebSecrets4U is giving you the breakdown on what you can expect from Nickelodeon’s inaugural award show.

Today, we are sharing our thoughts on who will snag the famous blimp for Best Male Athlete, Best Female Athlete, Favorite Newcomer, and Clutch Player of the Year.

Best Male Athlete:

  • Tom Brady (New England Patriots)
  • Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder)
  • Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (NASCAR)
  • LeBron James (Miami Heat)
  • Derek Jeter (New York Yankees)
  • Peyton Manning (Denver Broncos)
  • Dwayne Wade (Miami Heat)
  • Tiger Woods (Golf)

Our choice for Best Male Athlete is LeBron James. This season, LeBron averaged 27.1 points per game, 6.9 assists and 7.2 rebounds. He also made his 10th consecutive All-Star appearance, the “All-NBA First Team” and All-Defensive 2nd Team this year.  We feel that LeBron deserves the coveted blimp because he led the Miami Heat to its 4th Consecutive NBA Finals appearance.

Best Female Athlete:

  • Gabby Douglas (US Gymnastics)
  • Gracie Gold (US Figure Skater)
  • Candace Parker (Los Angeles Sparks)
  • Danica Patrick (NASCAR)
  • Hope Solo (Seattle Reign FC)
  • Lindsey Vonn (US Skiing)
  • Serena Williams (WTA)

So many talented athletes in one category! In our opinion, we feel that the blimp for Best Female Athlete should go to the best women’s tennis player in the world, Serena Williams. Serena won both the US Open and the French Open in women’s singles in 2013 and holds the most singles, doubles, and most mixed doubles titles among active players.

Favorite Newcomer:

  • Skylar Diggins (Tulsa Shock)
  • Bryce Harper (Washington Nationals)
  • Yasiel Puig (Los Angeles Dodgers)
  • Sloane Stephens (WTA)
  • Mike Trout (Anaheim Angels)
  • Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks)

In our opinion, all of these rookie athletes have really stood out this season. If we had to choose one winner for the Favorite Newcomer blimp, it would be Yasiel Puig from the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 2013, Yasiel hit .319 batting average in 104 games with 19 home runs and 42 RBIs during his stellar rookie season. He was also selected to be apart of  Baseball America’s “All Rookie Team.” Puig has been playing a great game this current season and we are so stoked to see what is next in his career.

Clutch Player of the Year:

  • Carmelo Anthony (New York Knicks)
  • Skylar Diggins (Tulsa Shock)
  • Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder)
  • LeBron James (Miami Heat)
  • Marshawn Lynch (Seattle Seahawks)
  • David Ortiz (Boston Red Sox)
  • Abby Wambach (The Western NY Flash)

Our choice for the Clutch Player of the Year is Kevin Durant from the Oklahoma City Thunder. KD averaged 27.4 Points Per Game, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assist per game. He led his team to the Western Conference finals and a 59-23 Regular Season Record. If that’s doesn’t say enough, Durant also has had buzzed beating skills throughout the year showed his killer instinct in the last seconds of the game this playoff season.

Let’s dish: What are your thoughts on our predictions for the 2014 Kids’ Choice Sports Awards? Make sure to see who snags a blimp LIVE on Thursday, July 17th at 8/7c only on Nickelodeon.
