Nashville’s hottest new duo Dan + Shay, received their first ever nomination for 2014 ACM Award’s “Vocal Duo of the Year,” presented by Darius Rucker.  “We could not be prouder to be nominated. It’s a dream come true!,” they announced upon hearing the news. Timing couldn’t be better, as the pair are set to make their Grand Ole Opry debut this Saturday, February 1, performing on the historic stage.

Earlier this week, Dan + Shay released the official music video for their Top 20 debut single “19 You + Me,” which is now available everywhere. The exclusive premiere was quickly embraced following the reveal, ranking as the No. 1 video across MTV, VH1, and CMT Artist Platforms and outranking all other post Grammy artist videos upon release. Filmed in Myrtle Beach late last year, directed by Brian Lazzaro and edited by Patrick Tracy, the premiere ran on CMT, Artists.CMT, iHeartRadio and more than 120 Clear Channel Media and Entertainment’s country station websites. The nostalgic feel-good track is the debut single from the Dan + Shay’s forthcoming album due out later this year on Warner Bros. Records. Currently putting the finishing touches on the yet to be titled release, the debut album is written entirely by Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, produced by Smyers and co-produced by Scott Hendricks and Nashville songwriter, Danny Orton. “19 You + Me” shot into the Top 20 on the charts after only thirteen weeks and garnered Dan + Shay the title of the most-added duo at country radio in 2013.

This spring Dan + Shay will go on tour with GRAMMY nominee, Hunter Hayes, on his “We’re Not Invisible Tour” kicking off on March 20 (dates listed below). The duo will continue on the road this summer with superstar, Blake Shelton, on his “Ten Times Crazier Tour 2014” beginning in June (dates and venues TBA). As well, Dan + Shay are excited to be the only new artists included on the first annual iHeartRadio Country Festival being held in Austin March 29th, which is already sold out and includes an all-star line-up.

Smyers, a Pittsburgh, Penn. Native, and Mooney, originally of Natural Dam, Ark., realized they had a special musical connection after meeting at a party at Smyers’ house, in his tented out living room only one year ago. What started as a late night jam session among new friends, led to daily writing sessions that resulted in songs which quickly caught the attention of publishers, label heads and radio programmers a like.
