This week competitors danced to their favorite jams which I’m sure is also some of our favorite songs! Tonight was also the first night of eliminations.
Whitney Carson and former bachelor Chris Soules began the night with a Cha-Cha’d to Pitbull’s “Time of Our Lives”. The judges agreed his form was a little off but his head is in the game. Receiving a 21 out of 40 for the night.
Suzanne Somers and partner Tony Dovolani Jived to “Whole lot of Shakin Goin On” bringing a whole lot of S A S S. Being the oldest this season, Julianne Hough said was “infectious”. 28 out of 40.
Shark Tank’s Robert Harjavec and his partner Kym Johnson picked “You Make Me Feel so Young” by Michael Buble as their jam for the night. And gave a picnic spring in the park vibe, Foxtrot. 28 out of 40.
Charlotte McKinney and Keo did a Cha-cha to queen of pop Katy Perry’s chart topper “California Girls” with a beach set up. Deemed to have done much better than their last dance and “fun and cheeky” said judge Len Goodman. Scoring a 26 out of 40!
Michael Sam and Peta Murgatroyd set a Motown tone and did a Foxtrot to “On My Way Back to You” by The Spinners. 28 out of 40
Owning the top of the leader board last week actress, Rumer Willis and partner Val C, Cha Cha’d to “Rumor Has It” by Adele. “Pin sharp sense of purpose” said judge Bruno. 32 out of 40.
Red Foo and Emma Slater did a Jive and picked “My Sharona” by the Knack as their jam this week. Aside from being at the bottom of the leader board last week, Red Foo proved that he was in it to win it! Receiving a 31 out of 40.
The youngest competitor ever, Willow Shields and partner Mark Ballas became an actual painting and Argentine Tango’d in tribute to “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Goyte as their jam. Proving age is nothing but a number, 32 out of 40 for the night!
Dedicated to his girlfriend, Noah Galloway and partner Sharna Burgess did a Samba to “Home Grown Honey” by Darius Ruker. 27 out of 40.
Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough Rumba’d to the very romantic Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. It was beautifully done and gave the song great justice. Receiving the highest score of the night and first 9 of the season, 34 out of 40.
Riker Lynch and Allison Holker picked Sugar by Maroon 5 and did a foxtrot. Despite the slicked back hair and dapper clothing, judges agreed the Riker Lynch flare was still there. Receiving 32 out of 40
Ending the night Patti Labelle and Artem Chigvintsev foxtrot’d to 50 Cents hit “In Da Club” based off of her 70th birthday party. They gave such a fun performance! Receiving 29 out of 40.
