Daniel Radcliffe Stops By “Big Morning Buzz Live” – Watch the Interview!

IMG_5129Daniel Radcliffe, AKA Harry Potter, stopped by VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live today to talk with host Nick Lachey about his incredibly busy schedule including his part in the current Broadway revival of “Cripple of Inishmaan” where he plays a person with a physical disability. On having to keep his leg propped up for what seems like an eternity, Daniel said “I attribute it to just fear of screwing up and there being a thousand people there. And knowing if you drop your leg then that illusion is broken and the whole point of the play just falls apart. […] My body’s just very adapted to it now, I think in a funny way. It’s more comfortable than it looks.” Radcliffe also plays a character with a hunchback in Frankenstein, where he also has to contort his body. He explains “I’ve just really enjoyed getting stuck into kind of physical challenges in roles and sort of using my body more as an actor. I have to say, the physicality of Frankenstein was so much more bizarre and painful frankly, than anything I’m doing on stage at the moment.”

Radcliffe is also bringing his talent to the big screen again with his new film “What If.” On the film’s location, Radcliffe explained “we filmed in Toronto and people from Toronto are really I think grateful and loved the movie because normally Toronto is in movies pretending to be NY or another city… a lot of people in Toronto’s reaction was that they didn’t even know they had beaches.” Daniel also dished about his night-time skinny dipping scene in the film. “I went into the Hudson river last year naked, for ‘Kill Your Darlings’ and I did the ocean for ‘What If’ and I have to say the Canadian ocean – I would much happily do that again than the Hudson river. ”

Later on in the show, Daniel spoke about meeting Tom Lehrer. It was “pretty much the most star struck I’ve ever been. It’s a super nerdy thing and not many people my age know who he is. But he’s a comic songwriter from the 50s and 60s and also a mathematician.” He showed off his singing skills by singing Tom Lehrer’s song about all the elements of the periodic table.

Check out videos from Daniel’s appearance below. You can catch the Big Morning Buzz Live on Monday-Friday at 10AM ET/PT on VH1.
