Daniella Monet is definitely feeling the love on Baby Daddy.
We learned in our last interview with Daniella that she would be guest-starring on the new season of Baby Daddy as Ben Wheeler’s love interest since high school, Sam. According to Daniella, her character “interviews to be the manager of his bar and gets the job and there’s a ton of things that happen after that.”
And she wasn’t lying!
On tonight’s new episode “The Dating Game,” Danny (Derek Theler) tries to subtly ask Sam (Daniella Monet) how she feels about Ben (Jean-Luc Bilodeau), but Sam thinks Danny is asking her out.
“There’s a little bit of a love triangle and some confusion I think as well,” said Daniella. “I don’t want to give too much away, but I think you learn a little bit more about Sam and a little bit more about her and Ben and where they may be going in the future.”
How do fans feel about Ben’s new love interest?
“It sounds like people are in to it,” Daniella told us. “It’s hard because the show is so established and Ben is such a strong and well-liked character that I think any girl that comes on to the show to play like a love interest or a friend or whatever that dynamic is, it’s a big shoe to fill, so I think for me I just want to be funny and I want to be like able and I think so far everyone sort of receives it well and I’m really happy about that.”
For all of you #TeamSam folks out there, she won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
“I’m gonna be in a good amount of episodes this season and I actually have three more that I still haven’t filmed yet and the hard part if I have no idea where this story line is going,” Daniella said. “I know where we’ve been, and you know, the arc so far, but these next three I still don’t know, so it’s still a mystery for me. She’s a lot different than she was in high school and you’ll learn a little bit more about how she was in high school and how they all knew each other and that dynamic so Idon’t know. I think time will tell how it’s going to go but I’m excited.”
Besides Baby Daddy, Daniella has been busy promoting season one of her new show Paradise Run, which aired on Feb. 1. The show finished its last episode on Feb. 26, but fans are already hoping to see Daniella come back and host a second season.
“It’s pretty awesome. I’m so excited about that show,” Daniella told us. “I feel like everything right now is doing pretty well. Paradise Run, I’m shocked to even find out, is the highest rated show on the network and that to me is like huge, so I’m super excited to be a part of that and I think that that should issue more to come. I haven’t gotten an official pick-up yet but I think that they’re in talk for it. I think it was a really really excellent choice on Nickelodeon’s part. I’m just so grateful that I was asked to be the host and I think what’s really cool for the fans, and especially for me, like I’ve noticed on social media, everyone is asking how they can be a contestant and that’s what cracks me up. I just love it, so I’m literally sending the creators all these people want to be contestants so let me know because I want to let these kids know! (laughs)”
Because the fans take the time out of their day to participate in what Daniella is doing, she makes sure to interact with them and respond on social media because that’s what motivates her to do more.
“I want to bring something to them that they’ll enjoy so I try to make good choices that everyone will enjoy,” said Daniella. “I like to be as family-friendly and as funny as possible and I think if I stay true to that, my fans and I will grow together and I think that’s such a cool thing to experience.”
Of course, Daniella is already working on her next project…interior design and real estate! She’s been fixing up her home during her spare time (does she really have any?) and she loves it.
“Oh my gosh, it’s so much fun,” she said. “I’m literally about to go to a nursery, so it’s been a little bit of a switch up. It’s really therapeutic. The balance between work and my personal life is like perfect right now. I’m going to be sharing a lot of the before and after pics on my YouTube channel and also on my blog. I finished the master bedroom and now we’re working on the office and the backyard. It’s been so much fun. I have always loved interior design and I’ve always loved real estate growing up. I actually just got my real estate license. It’s been a really fun side hobby that I’ll definitely keep up and hopefully share with everyone.”
