Disney’s new animation Frozen, the story about two sister princesses who must come together to save their homeland is in the works for a Broadway show confirms Disney CEO and chairman Bob Igers.
Although it is still unclear when the Golden Globe-winning film will come to Broadway Igers did tell Fortune, “We’re not demanding speed,” “We’re demanding excellence.”
The animation Frozen has so far a grossed of $669 million and it hasn’t even opened in China or Japan yet. Frozen brought back Disney Animation Studios back into groove and is Disney’s biggest hit since The Lion King. It was nominated for two Golden Globes and may get and Oscar nod, it is also the number one album in both Amazon and iTunes.
Anna, Elsa the main lead characters and even Olaf the snowman have become top-selling toys. Another logical step would be to include a Frozen attraction at Disney’s theme park.
