We got the chance to catch Coco Jones on the third night of her nationwide tour opening for R&B boyband, Mindless Behavior, at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Saturday night. This tour marks a newly revamped show for Coco, who continues to add bigger production, including a fierce army of backup dancers that she can hold her own to. She performed songs off of her Made Of EP, including “Déjà vu” and her single, “Holla at the DJ,” and treated the crowd adoring young girls with a killer mash-up of “How to Love” (by Lil Wayne), “Just the Way You Are” (by Bruno Mars), and “Beautiful” (by Christina Aguilera). Coco’s show felt lively and fresh, and seemed inspiring for the girls in attendance, who she seemed to connect with through the fun of her music and the fun she was having. It doesn’t hurt that her powerful vocals still sound great even when she’s dancing! And we may have heard to look out for a full length album from Coco Jones by the beginning of next year…
