We had the wonderful opportunity to chat with The Lylas! For those of you who don’t know, The Lylas are Presley, Tiara, Jaime, and Tahiti- a group of four sisters that all share the same passion for music! Did you know their brother is Bruno Mars!?
The girls recently put out a single titled, “Come Back.” The track is now available on iTunes and we can’t stop singing along! Check out the music video and our Q&A with the girls below. Are YOU into The Lylas?
Can you tell us about your single, “Come Back,” and why you chose it for your debut single?
“We wanted our first record to be an introduction. Come Back was split perfectly and introduces you to each sister personally.”
What can fans expect from you heading into the summer? Album? Tour?
“We are in the works of releasing a more up beat and fun summer song. We’re sure Come Back has depressed everyone for long enough.”
Would you ever want to tour or make music with your brother, Bruno Mars, or would you prefer to keep separate?
“We would love to work with Bruno but we have a list of other artists we would like to work with first (He’s our brother he ain’t going anywhere).”
What is the inspiration for your sound?
“We want to sound like us.. We have such a musically eclectic background and we want to do it all; reggae, dance, r&b, country, death metal (ok maybe not death metal)”
Jaime and Tahiti, how are you balancing breaking into a music career with motherhood?
“It’s not easy but we are learning to as we go along. We are learning that quality time far outweighs quantity of time (promising them a pony really helps too).”
How has life been different since moving to LA?
“We have each other so the transition has been easy. We’ll never get use to the weather in LA though. It’s so cold compared to Hawaii!”
Since our website is called CelebSecrets4U, can you each share one secret or hidden talent about yourself?
“Tiara: is afraid of the dark and can skateboard
Tahiti: is afraid of butterflies
Jaime: can fix almost anything. (fixed a leaking drain last week) and once fixed Bruno’s broken vintage guitar amp (it freaked him out)
Presley: is obsessed with animals (especially furry ones)”
