We are so excited for the premiere of Disney Channel’s new series Best Friends Whenever!
With only a few hours ’till the series premiere, CS4U is giving you the breakdown on what you can expect from the show straight from the cast members themselves!
If you aren’t familiar with the show already, Best Friends Whenever follows best friends Shelby (Lauren Taylor) and Cyd (Landry Bender) who, when their aspiring scientist friend Barry (Gus Kamp)’s invention goes awry, gain the power to leap forward and backward in time whenever they want – and sometimes when they don’t. Now, they experience the twists and turns of friendship and must decide between fixing mistakes in the past or catching a glimpse of the future. While Barry and his assistant, Naldo (Ricky Garcia), try to figure out how to replicate time travel for themselves, Cyd and Shelby use their newfound power to navigate high school life and Shelby’s mischievous twin brothers, Bret (Benjamin Cole) and Chet (Matthew Lewis Royer).
In the premiere episode, “A Time to Travel,” Shelby enlists Barry and Naldo to help create the perfect ambiance at school to ask her crush Cameron to the big dance. When the unexpected spoils her plans, Shelby and Cyd try to use their newfound power to travel back in time to fix everything.
CS4U visited the set of Best Friends Whenever last week to chat with Lauren, Landry, Gus and Ricky. Best Friends Whenever premieres tonight, June 26th immediately after Teen Beach 2 on Disney Channel. The series will join Disney Channel’s Sunday night comedy block at 8:30PM ET/PT beginning Sunday, July 12th.
