Multi-platinum GRAMMY® nominated group Fall Out Boy will kick off the fifth annual TeenNick HALO Awards with a live outdoor performance atop the Hollywood Palladium marquee in Los Angeles, Calif., while teen pop star Austin Mahone will take the stage on Sunday, Nov. 17. Both artists will be joined by Dax Shepard (Parenthood), Darren Criss (Glee) and Chloe Bennet (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) who are confirmed to present at the star-studded event celebrating four teens who are “Helping and Leading Others” (HALO). Hosted, created and executive produced by Nick Cannon, the 90-minute special pairs each honoree with a mega-celebrity — Josh Hutcherson, Queen Latifah, Chris Paul and Shay Mitchell — who shares their commitment to service. The TeenNick HALO Awards will broadcast live for the first time ever at 8 p.m. (ET/tape delayed for West Coast) on Nick at Nite, and encore Monday, Nov. 18, at 9 p.m. (ET) on TeenNick.
Fall Out Boy—Patrick Stump (vocals/guitar), Pete Wentz (bass), Joe Trohman (guitar) and Andy Hurley (drums)—is set to perform “Alone Together,” their latest hit off their #1 album SAVE ROCK AND ROLL, and the double-platinum Top 10 smash “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).” Mahone, who also surprised HALO honoree Miranda Fuentes in Florida with her award, will captivate the audience with a medley that includes his smash hit “What About Love” and new single “Banga! Banga!”
Fall Out Boy and Mahone will perform before an audience comprised of kids who have all given back to their communities. Nickelodeon has partnered with Amigos de los Rios, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Key Club International in the Los Angeles area to reward their star volunteers with the opportunity to be part of the HALO effect. The teens can earn a ticket to attend the TeenNick HALO Awards by participating in three hours of community service.
This year, celebrities in attendance at the TeenNick HALO Awards can visit the “HALO Hive,” an interactive social media lounge, and encourage viewers to tweet and Instagram pics. Fans can tweet with #HALOawards to share how they plan on helping and leading others in their own communities. To get the details on this year’s honorees, click here.
