About AJR: The NYC-bred Met brothers – Adam (bass/vocals), a 24-year old Columbia graduate, Ryan (guitar/piano/vocals), a 20-year old Columbia student who serves as the band’s main songwriter, and Jack (vocals/guitar), a 17-year old high school student and lead vocals – experienced a meteoric rise in the past year, following the self-release of a 5-song EP and fall 2014’s release of Infinity EP. Their full-length debut combines the exciting elements of their earlier releases alongside brand new material, reflecting the band’s continued creative development.
AJR has been favorably compared by Billboard to the Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel (for the harmonies) and Imagine Dragons (for the electro-pop influences). They even got some love from the New York Post for their “sticky-sweet pop melodies with vintage barber shop vocals [and] edgier electronic samples and ‘spokestep’ [aka dubstep breakdowns derived from vocals].” The viral success of “I’m Ready” also won over early champions from SiriusXM and iHeartRadio to VH1 “Big Morning Buzz” and NBC, who featured their song in their Olympic promos. In the past two years AJR has toured with the likes of The Wanted, Demi Lovato, Lindsey Stirling, Train, and they even performed a cover of “Wagon Wheel” alongside Meghan Trainor. Check it out!
