The moment that NYC-based singer/songwriter Fiona Silver has waited for is finally here… her debut album Little Thunder is available worldwide!
For those of you who don’t know Fiona, her evocative artistry encompasses the doe-eyed playfulness of 1960s girl groups, and the haunting beauty of Lady Day-era jazz, along with strains of vintage soul, classic rock, and modern indie rock. It’s a romantic aesthetic of pour-your-heart-out proportions that also harnesses humor, irony, and alluring naiveté.
Little Thunder is a poetic and poignant collection of cinematic soul-pop and shakin’-from-the-hips garage rock tracks. Silver co-produced the album with Erin Tonkon (David Bowie, Esperanza Spalding), while Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Emily Lazar (David Bowie, Foo Fighters, Lou Reed, Morrissey) put the final sonic touches on the album.
“It took some time [finding the sound of this record],” Silver told Celeb Secrets. “I love to explore and do all different styles of music, but having a band really helps because each musician brings their own something to the table.”
“[The sound] was just developing over time and then eventually we said ‘ok here are the collection of songs’ and we put them all together and they all worked. At that point I just kind of realized more of who I was and what I wanted to bring out in that record.”
