The People’s Choice Awards are always filled with hilarious, emotional, and even unexpected moments, so we decided to round up our favorite moments from last year’s show to count down one of our favorite shows of the season.

Hosted by Joel McHale, People’s Choice Awards 2017 will feature performances from Blake Shelton and Fifth Harmony and air LIVE from the Microsoft Theater on Wednesday, January 18th @ 9PM ET/PT on CBS.

Jane Lynch kicked off her hosting duties with an opening musical number that hasn’t been done in 6 years! But it was her poking fun at the whole Steve Harvey Miss Universe flub, that winded up on our list. Lynch allowed Lennon to start giving his speech, only to stop him mid-sentence to say that the winner of this year’s “Most Deserving Award” is actually Miss Colombia!

“It’s my fault,” joked Lynch. “I didn’t bother to come to dress rehearsal!”

Beloved daytime talk show host Ellen Degeneres was honored with last year’s “Favorite Humanitarian” award. “Ellen has dedicated her entire life to putting love and putting kindness into this world”, said Melissa McCarthy. Her efforts in not only helping those in need, and constantly raising awareness for charities and organizations lead to an emotional, yet funny speech.

Degeneres accepted her award generously and humbling, reminding us to always be kind to one another and to spread love.

“It’s a little strange to actually get an award for being nice and being generous and kind, which is what we’re all suppose to do with another,” said Degeneres. “That’s the point of being a human.”

The Pink Ladies of Grease: Live! (Kether Donohue, Vanessa Hudgens, Keke Palmer, Julianne Hough, and Carly Rae Jepsen) turned to silver and black, coming together in a girl empowering group. Julianne Hough really embodied her Sandy, in a modern dress. They all stayed true to their characters and poking a little fun with Chris Hemsworth when presenting “Best Album” to Meghan Trainor. We just can’t get enough of them!

After being named “Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress” for Fifty Shades of Grey, friend Leslie Mann gives Dakota Johnson a congratulatory hug. Dakota nearly suffered an unexpected wardrobe malfunction when her dress started zipping down. “Leslie just broke my dress!” Johnson joked. “It’s not like nobody here hasn’t already seen my boobs!”, referencing her “Fifty Shades of Grey” role. Luckily her girls came to her aid, and fixed her dress to give her acceptance speech!

Fan favorites Pretty Little Liars, score big every year. Fans voted them their “Favorite Cable TV Drama” of 2016, even after being on TV for six seasons. Troian Bellisario gave a thankful speech to not only her PLL “family” and not being able to think about doing this for 6 years, going on 7 with anyone else. Lastly, she thanked the fans the most!

“You are the reason we are here, you are the people who voted for us,” Bellisario said.

Taylor Kinney, “Chicago Fire” actor and at the time Lady Gaga‘s fiancé, made us believe in love again when he went up to accept his award for “Favorite Dramatic TV Actor“. Kinney showed everyone how much he loved his soon to be wife by dedicating some of his speech to her.

“I love you babe, thank you for having my back and supporting me. You inspire me everyday”, Kinney shared.

Even though they are not together anymore, it still makes us swoon!

Shawn Mendes took the stage to do a medley of his hit songs, “Stitches” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer“. While performing “Stitches,” it was pouring rain and Mendes gave us a very sultry Bieber feel. But it didn’t stop there, with the sound of thunder and the sight of lightning, Mendes surprised the audience with a guest star. Camilla Cabello, from Fifth Harmony (at the time) joined Mendes on stage adding to the relationship rumors from their steamy performance.

Our top favorite moment had to be when Vin Diesel gave a touching acceptance speech after receiving two awards for Furious 7, “Favorite Action Movie” and “Favorite Movie.“ Are you ready to get your tissues ready?

Not only did Vin Diesel thank the fans, thanking them for voting and appreciating how they love their work because that means the world to him. Diesel then started breaking down, thinking of his friend and co-star Paul Walker.

“My only message to you is: You’d be amazed with what you can do with love,” Diesel said. “You’d be amazed how powerful of a force that is. When we didn’t want to come back to filming when the tragedy was too heavy, it was the love of everyone combined that saw us through to the end.”

He ended his speech by singing a rendition of the classic Furious 7 theme song “See You Again” in honor of his late friend Paul Walker. It made us feel all of the feels.
