Celeb Secrets Predicts the 2017 Streamy Awards Winners

The Streamys have been going on since 2009, so you can imagine that there have been quite a few memorable moments, big performances, and inspiring victories on the award show stage over the years. This #FlashbackFriday, take a trip down memory lane with us as we look back on some of our favorite highlights in anticipation of what’s ahead.

1. James Van Der Beek Recreates His Crying Meme Face IRL, 2015

Chances are, you’ve seen the viral meme of James’ iconic Dawson’s Creek crying scene.

But have you ever seen him do it in real life? The slightly-embarrassed actor blessed us with a “25% strength” recreation on stage at the 2015 Streamys, and we are forever thankful to him for humoring us.

2. Remembering Christina Grimmie, 2016

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when the show asked Shane Dawson to honor the late Christina Grimmie at the 2016 Streamys.

Then her friends Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo Schneider performed their wonderful tribute.

The singer’s legacy still lives on in the YouTube community, so it was a perfect memorial.

3. Awkward First Kisses, 2014

How many of YOUR favorite YouTubers teamed up to have awkward first kisses with friends onstage?

We’ll never forget our jaw-on-the-ground reaction to this short film!

4. Milo Ventimiglia’s Streamys “Thank You Speech” Goes Off the Rails, 2010

This is an oldie but a goodie, especially since Milo’s fanbase just keeps growing over the years.

What started as a remote acceptance speech video quickly went awry… all in the name of good comedy, of course.

5. Michelle Phan Wins the First ICON Award, 2014

Not only did the beauty guru take home the Streamys’ very first ICON award in the show’s history, her acceptance speech was one of the most elegant and inspiring moments of the show.

6. Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em Performs Live, 2013

You can’t have a true #FlashbackFriday without going back to Soulja Boy, and revisiting some of your favorite of his viral dance songs.

7. Cameron Dallas Shouts Out the Leaders of the Social Media Revolution, 2015

Cameron took home the incredible Entertainer of the Year at the 2015 Streamys, and he shared his pride for the creators in the audience who are leading a new generation of web-based content.
