Freeform (formerly ABC Family) is jumping to the Marvel Universe.
The network is developing a TV series based on the Marvel characters Cloak and Dagger. The story follows two teens runaways named Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson who cross paths in New York City that acquire superpowers as they fall in love. Tandy can emit daggers of light, while Tyrone can engulf others in darkness.
No writer is attached to the series but the project has already been given a straight-to-series order. These Marvel characters have appeared in animation, but never before been incorporated into live action television.
