‘Girl Meets World’ Could Get Picked Up by Another Network After Shocking Cancellation

We were devastated when we heard the news that Girl Meets World was canceled.

For those of you who didn’t know, Girl Meets World was the official spin-off for the hit television series Boy Meets World. It centers around Cory and Topanga’s 13-year-old daughter Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), her brother Auggie Matthews (August Maturo), and her best friend Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter). Throughout the show, Riley faces many life lessons, whether it’s from school, her friends, or her family. It sets a good example to its’ young audience because maybe some of them can relate to some of these life lessons that the characters face or it can teach them something new. It also focuses on many important subjects such as bullying, growing up, peer pressure, and relationships.  The series premiered on Disney Channel on June 24th, 2014. Many stars from Boy Meets World have made an appearance on the show including, Mr. Feeny, Eric Matthews (Cory’s brother), and Shawn Hunter (Cory’s best friend).

Since fans heard the shocking news many of them took action and started writing letters to other networks such as Hulu and Netflix asking them to pick up the show for a fourth season, because it definitely deserves one.

Luckily, the show’s creator, Michael Jacobs, recently told The Wrap that he may be in talks with other networks. This could mean that the show could be saved! It also looks like we could hopefully hear some good news soon if it gets picked up. He said, “I don’t think this thing can go on three or four months without a decision. I think it will be sooner rather than later.”

Looks like the fans reactions have gotten noticed and it worked! We hope this show gets saved and gets picked up for a fourth season soon.

As of now, the final episode of Girl Meets World will air on Disney Channel on January 20th.
