Delta Airlines kicked off music’s biggest weekend with an epic party in Hollywood last night (February 9) for the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards.
The Official Airline Partner of the GRAMMY Awards and inaugural Supporter of First Time Nominees held the event at Beauty & Essex, adjacent to the new Dream Hollywood, and kicked off with an incredible DJ set from Drake’s longtime producer DJ Boi-1da.
First time GRAMMY nominee Halsey surprised the audience with a stunning six piece orchestra that joined her for a five song set, including her hits “Castle,” “Closer” (for which she’s nominated this year), “Colors,” “Hold Me Down” and “Hurricane.”
Throughout the performance, Halsey shared personal anecdotes and song inspirations with guests and celebrities in attendance, which included Elle King, Serayah, Gabby Douglas, Daya, OITNB’s Adrienne C. Moore, Mya and Trevor Jackson, Kandi Burruss, Serinda Swan and more.
Memorable moments throughout the evening included Elle King keeping her fingers crossed for a ‘nip slip’ at the 2017 GRAMMY Awards, Gabby Douglas and Elle King hugging it out and Elle thanking Gabby for “Empowering Womenâ€, and Taraji P. Henderson giving advice to Serayah – “Serve It†and “Work.â€
In addition, Halsey talked about her 50 shades debut, her bi-racial and bi-sexual self, the first time she touched a GRAMMY (and broke it!) and learning that she was a 2017 GRAMMY Nominee, and Adrienne C. Moore addressed whether the GRAMMYs should be used as a political moment or not.
It was an uber-glamorous evening, replete with non-stop dancing, signature libations and the celebration of music!
