As many of you know Usher’s 11 year old Step-Son Kyle Glover was in a tragic accident on Friday. Kyle was innertubbing on a lake in Georgia over the weekend when a Jet-Ski hit him in the head. Kyle was rushed to the ER and placed in ICU, on Sunday Kyle was pronounced brain dead, but his family has issued a statement, saying that they are keeping positive thoughts and asking for prayers. Usher and Tameka have called a truce on their on going legal battle and custody issues for the betterment of Kyle, Usher even charted a private plane for Tameka to by by Kyle’s side.
In a statement to CNN The Glover family said, “We know God’s in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time, we firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it’s the best way we can all support him now.” Also according to CNN, The Glover family held a vigil for Kyle at the hospital. Usher visited the Kyle morning after he was admitted to the hospital, Kyle and Usher had grown quite close during Usher’s marriage to Kyle’s mom, Tameka.
The accident took place on over the weekend on Friday, July 6, 2012 when Kyle and a second victim, a 15-year-old girl, were hit by a jet-ski innertubing in Lake Lanier. Both Kyle and the girl were airlifted to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston Pediatric Hospital. The girl has reportedly been okay only to suffering a cut on the head and a broken arm, while Kylr took the brunt of the trauma to his head. The person behind the jet ski has been identified as 38-year-old Jeffrey Hubbard, a family friend. At this time the police have determined that no drugs were involved, and no charges are being pressed.
Friends of both Usher and Tameka have sent their well-wishes via Twitter. “Wishing @TamekaRaymond‘s son godspeed recovery. horrible news to hear,” Roots drummer Questlove tweeted. Jermaine Dupri added, “Lifers! pls say a prayer for man Ryan, Tameka, Usher and the Glover family.” Family friend, Justin Bieber, Tweeted his support for Usher and Tameka, “My prayers go out to @tamekaraymond and their whole family. keep them in your thoughts. we are all blessed to have this time here together. to be able to share our lives together and live these stories. Dont take it for granted. be humble, be grateful, give back, share, pay it forward, chase your dreams, go for it, and take a moment to remember where it is ALL from.”
