Last night (September 5), the Hollywood community once again united to support Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), which staged its fourth biennial fundraising telecast at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Calif.
Co-executive produced by Gwyneth Paltrow and Joel Gallen of Tenth Planet Productions, the September 5 telecast was broadcast live and commercial-free on ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC, along with ABC Family, American Forces Network, AXS TV, Bravo, Cooking Channel, DirecTV, Discovery Fit & Health, E!, Encore, Encore Español, EPIX, ESPNEWS, FOX Sports 2, FXM, HBO, HBO Latino, ION Television, LMN, Logo TV, MLB Network, National Geographic Channel, Oxygen, Palladia, Pivot, SHOWTIME, Smithsonian Channel, Starz, TNT and VH1. SU2C raises funds to accelerate the pace of research to get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now. SU2C, a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was established in 2008 by film and media leaders who utilize the industry’s resources to engage the public in supporting a new, collaborative model of cancer research, and to increase awareness about cancer prevention as well as progress being made in the fight against the disease.
