IMG_0113Universal CityWalk’s 5Towers hosted Jason Derulo‘s album release concert as part of their Spring Concert Series on Wednesday, April 16th.

The free show wasDerulo‘s only scheduled performance in the U.S with support from label mate and MTV’s Artist to Watch, Jake Miller.

Jake Milleropened up with his number one single, “Collide.” He slowed things down with his song, “A Million Lives” and ended his set with “Hollywood.” His set included songs from his albumUs Against Them, full of energy with the crowd singing every word. The fans went crazy for Miller and didn’t want his set to end. Jake said he was going back to Florida in three weeks, and is happy to end his last days in Los Angeles performing.

After Jake Miller’s exciting performance, it was time for headliner Jason DeRuloto take the stage. Jason opened up with “In My Head.”Jasoneven sang the old fan-favorite “Whatcha Say!” If that’s not all, Jason decided to sing songs off his new album “Talk Dirty,” and brought out a special guest. He announced he was singing his new duet, “Vertigo,” with his lovely girlfriend Jordin Sparks. While the rest of his songs were fast beat and included a ton of dancing, it was nice to see DeRulo slow it down and just sing. Jason and Jordin have a ton of chemistry, especially when they’re singing to each other. Jason ended the show with this number one song on billboard and the crowds favorite, “Talk Dirty;” every single person at the concert were dancing and singing along.

After the show, Jason DeRulo had an album signing and met with his fans that purchased the album at the FYE booth at City Walk. It was overall a great show, filled with energy and dancing. A great way to start the “Spring Summer Series” concerts, but a hard concert to top. They had told Jason and Jake that this is one of the biggest crowds they’ve seen at City Walk. Let’s see ifDevandPia Miacan top this duo tomorrow!
