Johnny Weir & Tara Lipinski Talk Ryan Lochte Drama on Facebook Live

Although the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics are coming to a close this weekend, the drama revolving around the 31st Olympiad is just getting started.

Earlier this week, 12-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte claimed on social media that he was robbed at gunpoint at a gas station in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, last Sunday by assailants posing as police officers with fellow teammates Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz, and James Feigen. However, new reports have surfaced that accuse Lochte fabricated the story about the robbery to cover up a fight that allegedly broke out in the gas station’s bathroom.

Figure skaters and Olympic commentators Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski addressed all of this drama in their most recent Facebook Live chat this afternoon and they couldn’t have said it better when they called it “cringe-worthy.”

“No one knew what was going to happen with the Olympics, if everything would be ready, if it wouldn’t be, if security would be ok… Now it’s the athletes creating all the drama!” Weir said.

When asked about the most cringe-worthy from the Olympics, Tara answered the French gymnast who broke his leg, while Johnny remarked, “all the [Ryan] Lochte is really cringe-worthy.”

You can watch the full live stream from this afternoon here. The 2016 Rio Summer Olympics continue until this Sunday, August 21st.
