The new buddy-comedy series Max & Shred has officially hit our television screens, and CelebSecrets4U got the scoop on what its like for a snowboard pro to get a new bro straight from “Max” and “Shred” themselves.

Max & Shred chronicles the hilarious and unlikely friendship between Max Asher (Jonny Gray), a celebrity snowboarder, and Alvin “Shred” Ackerman (Jake Goodman), a science whiz-kid, who become roommates and instant “bros” when Max moves to Colorado to train for the Winter Cup. The two boys must work to become friends and learn to navigate the trials of teenage life from completely opposite points of view.

This season on Max & Shred, the boys will find themselves in hilarious situations that everyday teens’ experience.  From liking the same girl to navigating the crazy halls of high school to fighting over who gets a new room, Max and Shred may approach life differently but in the end, they always have each other’s back.

CS4U had the chance to chat with Jonny Gray and Jake Goodman all things Max & Shred. Take a read at our Q&A below!

CS4U: Your new series Max and Shred is officially out on Nickelodeon! For people who haven’t watched it yet, can you tell our readers a little bit about the show?

Jake: The show is a fresh comedy between Max Asher and Alvin Ackerman who are complete opposites. Max is a super cool, chill snowboarder and is very daring, and Alvin is very cautious and very smart. Max & Shred shows how they mix and even though they’re so different, they can become best bros.

CS4U: Jonny, since your character is a professional snowboarder, did you have any prior knowledge of snowboarding before taking on the role?

Johnny: “Yes, I actually snowboard very well! I’ve been snowboarding since I was about 7 or 8, or 6 I can’t remember clearly, but its been for a few years now :P. I’m a big park guy so I do a lot of jumps and the rails so, I know the snowboarding terms, I know the slang.”

CS4U: Jake, since your character is more into science and technology, are you anything like your character?

Jake: “I usually say Alvin is a heightened version of me. I enjoy learning, I’m fascinated by things around me and how stuff works, but in every script there’s always that one word that I ask my mom how to pronounce and what it means because Alvin just knows all these words and terms that I have not heard of at all! He’s kind of like me but he’s taken to another level.”

CS4U: Do you guys have any favorite memories from being on Max and Shred so far?

Jake: “I have so many favorite memories from being on set, I can’t really think of one! Some include when we’re on breaks and we just chill with the cast and get some down time. I guess this doesn’t really count as ‘on set,’ but Jonny lives very far away from where we film, so sometimes he stays at my house for the night. I love jamming with him, playing video games with him, and just chilling out with him! Jonny and I are very close.”

CS4U: Is there anything you can share with us that will be happening in upcoming episodes?

Jake: “Alvin and Max try to sneak into a party. We pretend we’re German scientists, which is pretty funny because obviously Alvin and Max don’t know how to do a German accent. Another thing I can say is there’s one where, obviously Max snowboards and has a bunch of sponsors, and Alvin gets jealous so he tries to get a sponsor of his own, and let me just say this, it does not go well!”

Jonny: “Also, one coming up in a little while is where we get snowed in to our house. We have a bad storm and there’s a talent show- the Ackerman family talent show. It’s the Ackerman family’s social variety hour; and that is quite the event, a lot of things happen, it’s very funny.”

Max & Shred airs Monday-Friday at 7:30p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.
