A snapshot of Katy Perry sending a not-so-nice message via WhatsApp recently went viral causing unwanted controversy for the “Dark Horse” songstress. So the story goes that the performer retrieved a fan’s phone during one of her shows back in December of 2014. She apparently came across offensive messages from her ex that rubbed Perry the wrong way. Her ex wrote, “Lol I heard she can’t sing live at all”. Katy then retaliated with, “You thought I would never see this chat, you little d**kless monkey. You have no balls, p****y. C***t.” before taking a selfie and returning the cellphone to its rightful owner.
Katy took to twitter earlier this week to debunked the unpleasant exchange and set the record straight. “I NEVER wrote those words, this is an EDITED picture or the person added it after I took it. I would never use the C word.”
@katyperrylately I NEVER wrote those words, that is an EDITED picture or the person added it after I took it. I would NEVER use the C word.

And to convince her Katy Cats that she really didn’t send the rude text, she retweeted @iwasdivine who admitted to creating the edit just for a few harmless laughs.
@katyperry if anything it was supposed to make people laugh, not spread like wildfire through media. I apologize for any confusions.
