Kaya Stewart is the new kid on the block at Vans Warped Tour and CelebSecrets4U was able to check her out while we were there a few weeks ago!
The 15-year-old singer/songwriter has been performing on the Kevin Says Stage for her run on the tour and has been receiving lots of positive feedback from fans across the country. Her 25 minute set featured songs off her debut EP Kaya Stewart, including “In Love With a Boy,” “Jonah,” “Let’s Split,” “Try It Out,” and “Feel Good.”
Deeply influenced by growing up in a musical household that included her father, songwriter-producer-musician Dave Stewart, Kaya began focusing on writing lyrics and melodies, documenting her personal experiences for the songs that are featured on her upcoming self-titled album on Warner Bros. Records. The album, due in the fall, was produced by Dave Stewart, who sets Kaya’s naturally soulful voice atop a sound that channels rock and R&B elements into pop songs driven by edgy electronic beats.
CelebSecrets4U caught up with Kaya after her set at Warped Tour recently to talk all things music! In our interview, Kaya talks about what its like being on Warped Tour for the first time, the success of her single “In Love With A Boy,” and plans for a full-length album in the fall.
