Multi-platinum selling duo Thompson Square is now officially a three-piece!
Shawna Thompson gave birth today at 2:46 am CT in a Nashville area hospital to the on-stage and real-life couple’s first child, a baby boy named Rigney Cooper Thompson.
The healthy blue-eyed boy weighed in at 7 lbs and 13 oz. Rigney is 19 inches long and has brown hair.
The name “Rigney” holds a special place in Thompson Square’s heart. It’s the maiden name of Shawna Thompson’s grandmother.
E! Online broke the news exclusively this morning while Thompson Square shared a special photo and message with fans a few hours after the new family was able to catch it’s breath from the big night:
“We’re so excited to be able to share this monumental day with all of you. We’ve had many wonderful things happen to us but this absolutely tops them all. We want to thank you all for being there for us and our music and for all of your support during our pregnancy.
