Right before Cory Monteith‘s tribute episode of glee airs Lea Michele opened up about her Glee Co-Star as well as late boyfriend to TV Weekly Australia. This was Lea’s first interview since Cory’s death.
Lea told TV Weekly Australia that during the time she was coping with this devastating tragedy.
When coming back to the set of Glee without Cory, Lea says working is helping her heal. “Everyone is asking, ‘is it hard to do this? Is it hard to be back at work?’ But the truth is it’s no harder at work than it is in life,” she said. “So we might as well all be together as a family supporting each other to get through this together.”
Lea continued to say, “for me personally, I’ve lost two people: Cory and Finn.”
The glee cast held a memorial for Cory on set in the auditorium, where some of the cast sang and others spoke about him. Lea felt, “it was only right to do the same thing for Finn, so I felt it was very therapeutic.”
Lea felt as if she was in a daze, but she was lucky to have the support of the Glee cast and crew, “I really woke up every single day feeling like I was being in some sort of spell or something, that I was lucky enough to have him in my life…There was no greater man than Cory.”
Cory Monteith’s trubute called “The Quarterback” airs on Oct. 10 on Fox at 9pm.
