As you all know, The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards happened over the weekend and we’re still gawking over all the fashion that we saw on the carpet. One of our favorites of the evening was Anna Chlumsky (The End of the Tour). The starlet wowed everyone with her satin black Christian Siriano gown and her chic Ballerina bun. I mean, who doesn’t love a bun?? Whether it’s messy or polished, it’s the perfect hairdo that goes with practically anything!
Thanks to Macadamia Professional International Creative Director/Hairstylist Giannadrea’s tutorial, you can now get the look at home! It’s so simple and easy, you’ll be dolled-up and ready to celebrate your Valentine’s day in less than 10 steps!
STEP 1: You want to start off with freshly washed hair. While still damp, apply Macadamia Professional Blow Dry Lotion. Start from mid-length to the end of your hair.
STEP 2: Blow dry mid-sized sections of your hair with a large brush (the Macadamia Professional 53mm Hot Curling Boar Brush works perfectly). Doing this will create the voluminous blowout that we’re looking for.
STEP 3: Once your hair is completely dry, section a large triangle the crown of your head and secure with pins. Use a quarter-sized amount of Macadamia Professional Nourishing Moisture Oil Treatment to smooth out the sides and back sections that are outside of the triangle portion only.
STEP 4: Brush the sides and back hair tightly and bring it into a high ponytail. After you’ve reached the desired height of your ponytail, secure it with a hair elastic.
STEP 5: Unpin the triangle portion and begin to backcomb from the front section, moving towards the back of the scalp to create volume at the roots. Lightly brush it backward to smooth the hair and wrap it around the ponytail.
STEP 6: Taking 1-inch sections from the ponytail, begin to wrap them around the elastic and secure with straight bobby-pins. This will be the base of your bun. Continue this until all sections have been wrapped and secured into a chic, tight bun.
STEP 7: Sweep any baby hairs across the forehead to achieve a lovely windswept look.
STEP 8: To finish the look off, spray with Macadamia Professional Style Lock Strong Hold Hairspray and use a fine-tooth comb to smooth the sides. To give your hairdo that extra shine and polish, lightly spray Macadamia Professional Weightless Moisture Dry Oil Micro Mist all over the finished style. Now you’re ready conquer the night!
