Magic Giant are a new indie- folk group that consists of 3 very talented musicians — Austin Bisnow (lead vocals), Zambricki Li (banjo, violin, harmonica), and Zang (acoustic guitar and cello). The guys put together a very beautiful show at The Sayers Club in Hollywood, CA this past Tuesday (March 28th) and of course Celeb Secrets was there to see them live and give you a breakdown of what happened.
If you’ve never been to Sayers Club before, you should know that it’s a very intimate venue. There were lounge chairs everywhere so guests could sit down and chat. Since the club is 21+, there was an open bar that guests (and we) really enjoyed. There was even someone making liquid nitrogen into ice cream onsite!
The clock struck 8:00, which meant it was finally time for the show to start. Austin, Zambacki, and Zang sang their new singles off their upcoming debut album, including ‘Set on Fire’, ‘Let it Burn’, ‘Let’s Start Again’, and ‘Jade’ . They played an array of instruments including the cello, the harmonica, the banjo, the drums, and the guitar. They even performed a very beautiful and acoustic performance of ‘Nothing Left,’ where the band got in the middle of the venue (right in front of us; nbd) and the entire audience made a big circle around them. Check out some short clips from our Snapchat story of the performances:
With an array of musical instruments, Zang describes, “we use whatever instruments are best for the song.” Austin, the lead singer, added, “When people hear our music or experience a show, we want to bring out the most uninhibited version of themselves” Which is what you really feel at one of their shows.
One of our favorite songs from Magic Giant is their newest single “Set On Fire.” Available now on Spotify and iTunes, the track has been jumping up the charts to #4 on Spotify’s US Viral 50 and gained nearly 4 million streams in less than a year. It has even become a Los Angeles favorite on radio shows including KROQ and hit #1 on KROQ’s Locals Only!
If you wanna keep up with these incredible guys on social media, you can follow them on Twitter and Instagram at @MagicGiant. Their debut album In The Wind will be available on Friday, May 19th.
