The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards are tonight and we can’t wait to see who will be walking the red carpet later!
One gal that will for sure look absolutely fierce on the red carpet is Mahogany Lox! The singer has teamed up with MTV and Clean & Clear to be their social correspondent for music’s most unexpected night.
Born Mahogany Cheyenne Gordy, she was named after the iconic film Mahogany which was directed and produced by her grandfather and Motown Records founder Berry Gordy. With Berry as her grandfather and LMFAO as relatives, music is clearly in her blood. Like all young girls, Mahogany grew up with a hairbrush in her hand singing throughout her childhood. It was in 2013 that she began sharing her videos on YouTube and built a following of devout fans called the LOXSmiths with over 1M+ followers on Instagram, 1M+ twitter, 1M Vine. Her single “Boom” is available now on iTunes and you can watch the music video for “Boom” below.
CelebSecrets4U caught up with Mahogany Lox earlier this week to talk all things VMAs! In our interview, Mahogany talks about her partnership with MTV and Clean & Clear, which celeb she’s most excited to see on the red carpet, and what her outfit will look like. CS4U: You’re attending the VMAs this weekend! Who are you most excited to see at the show?
Mahogany Lox: “I’m excited to see my girls from Fifth Harmony! I haven’t seen them in a while, Miley and of course Maroon 5. There’s so many. I’m excited!”
CS4U: Do you have everything all ready? What can you tease about your outfit?
Mahogany Lox: “Yup! Everything is done! Just imagine lots of sparkles and lace!”
CS4U: You’re always so stylish whether on stage or on Instagram — who would you say are your fashion inspirations?
CS4U: What can you tell us about your appearance on America’s Best Dance Crew?
Mahogany Lox: “It was so much fun! Everybody was so wonderful and talented. Since I’m MTV’s and Clean and Clear’s social correspondent for ABDC and the VMA’s my appearance was work related and I enjoyed every minute of it!”
CS4U: Let’s talk music — are you working on anything right now? What can you tell us about it?
Mahogany Lox: “I’m working on lots of new music & with lots of new people! I’m excited to share what we’ve been working on. You’ll hear it soon!”
CS4U: Since our website is called CelebSecrets4U, do you have a beauty secret that you can share with our readers (you always look so great!)?
Mahogany Lox: “Hmm… I always use clean and clear dual action moisturizer before I put my makeup on and that’s one of my secrets! I’ve been using it for months and it’s definitely a good one. I recommend it!”
