Nashville based singer/songwriter Meghan Trainor released the video for her debut single “All About That Bass” (Epic Records) today on VEVO. The influential pop blog Idolator premiered the video yesterday along with some major praise for Meghan, “Oh suh-nap! Did Meghan Trainor just throw 2014’s Song Of The Summer race a serious curve ball? It could well be.” The clip is directed by legendary director/producer/choreographer Fatima Robinson (Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Michael Jackson) and stars Vine superstar Sione Maraschino who has over 420,000 followers.
“All About That Bass” is currently being offered as free download at www.meghan-trainor.com until it is released at all digital retailers and impacts Top 40 radio on June 30th.
“All About That Bass” is super-playful but unapologetic self-empowerment anthem that urges girls to ignore the standard beauty ideal. “When writing the song, I was thinking about girls today and how because of social media, there’s more pressure to be society’s version of perfect and the message of the song is to love your body no matter what, “ said Meghan.
